Due to company growth, we require a Full-Time School Bus Dispatcher based out of our Dufferin office. This position offers a positive work environment in a fast paced environment, competitive salary, group benefits along with enhanced skill development.

Job Description:

• Maintains an up-to-date listing of school buses and assigned drivers
• Assures ready access to an up-to-date route sheet for each scheduled route
• Maintains an accurate daily attendance roster of drivers
• Maintains cordial working relationships with assigned drivers
• Operate two-way radio base station
• Ability to work in a high-pressure environment
• Demonstrates a comprehensive knowledge of roads and streets in Toronto and the surrounding area
• Communicate with parents, supervisors, school administrators and department employees ; receive requests, questions, concerns and suggestions and provide information and assistance to appropriate personnel
• Other duties as assigned

Requirements & Skills:

• Minimum high school diploma or GED equivalency
• Post secondary education preferred
• 3 years experience preferred
• Highly organized with a strong attention to detail
• Previous dispatch experience considered an asset
• Ability to prioritize work in a fast, flexible, multi task environment with minimal supervision
• Exceptional problem solving skills
• Telephone and two-way radio techniques and etiquette
• Speak clearly and distinctly
• Interpersonal skills using tact, patience and courtesy
• Creative, quick learner who will bring innovative thinking
• Well-spoken and comfortable working with all levels of the organization
• Energized, positive attitude and a team player
• Work cooperatively with others
• Analyze situations accurately and adopt an effective course of action
• Excellent knowledge of all MS Office programs
• Previous experience in the school bus industry is considered an asset
• Commercial Drivers License (CDL) with school bus endorsement; must have or be willing to obtain within six months, or equivalent work experience
