QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE

  • Minimum 3 years of experience in customer service and outbound logistics (dispatch software experience required)
  • Intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)
  • Experience with email applications and ability to learn new systems (e.g., Badger/GPS; Onfleet preferred)
  • Strong data entry and basic math skills
  • Ability to perform in a high-pressure, fast-paced environment
  • Excellent time management, organization, and multitasking abilities
  • Outstanding communication skills — phone, email, and in person
  • Knowledge of food service or manufacturing is an asset
  • Proven ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team setting
Responsibilities

THE ROLE

The Dispatcher plays a critical role in ensuring the smooth and timely execution of daily food deliveries to childcare centers. This position is responsible for planning and updating delivery routes using dispatch software, scheduling and supporting drivers, and ensuring that all meals are picked up and delivered efficiently and on time.
The Dispatcher works closely with the Customer Care, Finance, and Shipping teams to resolve delivery issues, maintain accurate records, and continuously identify opportunities to improve the delivery process and overall service quality.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Accurately plan and input delivery routes into dispatch software to meet on-time requirements
  • Optimize delivery routing to improve efficiency and identify cost-saving opportunities (e.g., strategic use of toll routes like Highway 407)
  • Provide accurate delivery reports to the Accounting team for contractor invoicing
  • Train and monitor drivers on proper use of the dispatch application
  • Track driver issues, identify root causes, and support performance improvement
  • Coordinate and optimize driver schedules to support timely food pickups and deliveries
  • Resolve delivery issues in coordination with Customer Care to ensure client satisfaction
  • Ensure compliance with all safety regulations, legal requirements, and company policies
  • Provide insights and recommendations to management for continuous improvement
