Description

The Dispatcher, under the direction of the General Manager, will primarily be responsible to oversee the planning of logistics of the trip, and ensure appropriate paperwork to transport goods is obtained. This role will ensure all employees comply with applicable legislation, including safe operation, carriage of goods, drivers’ hours of service, occupational health and safety, transportation of dangerous goods and weights and dimensions.
The Canadian dispatcher is required to communicate well by ensuring the accurate and timely transmission of information. This position will oversee staff to ensure work is being performed according to established standards by engagement with operations, training, ride a long’s, assistance in loading when required and any adverse tasks which may present.
Attention to detail, accuracy and data entry (Excel, Word and Outlook) are essential skills to this position. Experience in the transportation business handling liquid bulk commodities is a requirement.
A knowledge of transloading and a class one or three license is an asset.
Applicant must be able to pass drug and alcohol screening, along with a fit to work test.
