- Flight dispatching impacts flight success: You play a vital role in making sure flights take off safely and on time by coordinating with pilots, monitoring flight conditions and managing operational control.
- Operations move quickly: Expect a fast-paced, sometimes high-pressure environment due to changing operations.
- Collaboration is essential—but so is independence: You’ll mostly work alone, but you will always have your team and supervisor available for your assistance.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Air Canada Flight Dispatchers are required to be qualified in accordance with CAR 705 and CASS 725;
- Must be at least 21 years of age;
- Must Have Transport Canada exams FDOPS and FDMETS completed and active;
- Hold a Restricted Operator Certificate - Aeronautical (ROC-A);
- Have a current valid passport;
- Good decision-making ability in high pressure situations;
- Strong interpersonal, communication and organization skills;
- Demonstrated ability to keep and monitor records effectively;
- Capable of working under pressure without close supervision;
- Experience with conflict resolution and problem solving;
- Good communication skills, verbal and written;
- Proficiency with PC (Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint an asset;
- Post secondary education is an asset;
- Previous airline operational experience, an asset.
- Candidates must be available for shift work in a 24/7 operational environment, including mornings, evenings, weekends, and statutory holidays;
- Ability to meet Air Canada medical standards through a medical examination;
