Description Independent Recycling Services is recruiting for a Dispatcher / Customer Service Representative to join its service-oriented team. This position is responsible for the coordination of drivers and containers to maximize productivity and ensure prompt, courteous, and efficient service to all customers 3 years of Dispatch experience preferred We are looking for someone with great phone skills, communication skills, and a customer service attitude The dispatcher must have the ability to multi-task and problem solve. Essential Duties and Responsibilities: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Other duties may be assigned. Assign routes to drivers daily and also for the upcoming day. Handle and field incoming calls and emails from customers and sales departments; manage requests for pick-up or delivery while ensuring adequate service response. Coordinate driver movement in the field with customer service requests with the goal of optimizing service efficiency throughout the day. Initiate outbound calls to customers while drivers are on-site/location, resolve pick-up and other issues. Troubleshoot and resolve potential delivery and pick-up problems before they result in service issues. Relay any service issues to Management. Record and document information from Drivers and distribute to the appropriate departments. All Dispatchers must be able to effectively communicate and transition the dispatch responsibilities to the next Dispatch person or shift. Document all safety related accidents/incidents with the respective driver for the safety department. Keep ongoing communication with management, safety, billing and maintenance teams Check in drivers, close routes, and handle any follow-up driver or customer issues. Requirements The requirements below are necessary to perform the job. Education: High School Diploma or GED. 3 years dispatch preferred. Good customer services skills to meet and exceed customer expectations. Professional, courteous and cooperative with customers and co-workers. Good time management skills and follow through to ensure assigned responsibilities are completed in an efficient and timely manner. Ability to adhere to company policies and rules set forth; promotes the company’s safety standards; does not take inappropriate risks. Work Environment: Dispatcher will be located inside the office at 2401 S. Laflin Street, Chicago, IL.
