Job Details Job Location: Cullman Regional Ambulance Service - Cullman, AL 35055 Position Type: Full Time Job Shift: Any Job Category: Health Care Job Summary: Under the direction of a Dispatcher II, dispatch all 911 and non-emergency calls received in dispatch. Appropriately dispatch and provide directions to all ambulance calls. Maintain situational awareness of the needs of the EMS system. Maintain all paperwork and keep records as required by a dispatcher. Demonstrate and encourage team behavior and exceptional patient/guest experiences. Uphold and promote patient safety and quality. Qualifications Education: High school graduate (or equivalent) and must hold or be able to obtain APCO and Priority Dispatch EMD and EFD certifications within 6 months of hire. Must maintain CPR certification. Train on CAD, Communication, and 911 phone systems until proficient. Experience: Dispatch experience with Spillman CAD systems is preferred but not required. Additional Skills/Abilities: General typing and computer skills, EMS CAD system, Microsoft Office IE: (Excel, Word, and Microsoft Outlook). Professional communication skills and the ability to communicate with 911 callers, patients, coworkers, doctors, and nurses. Excellent customer service skills required. ICS courses required are 100, 200, 700, 701, 702, 703, 704, and 800.
Responsibilities
The dispatcher is responsible for dispatching all 911 and non-emergency calls and providing directions for ambulance calls. They must maintain situational awareness of the EMS system and keep accurate records as required.
