Description

Position Title: Dispatcher | Reports to: General Manager Employment Status: Full-time | FLSA Status: Non-Exempt | Pay Grade: Hourly About the Role The Dispatcher is responsible for acting as an intermediary between external partners, drivers in the field, and facility logistics to ensure the successful pick-ups and deliveries of products. This role will be the main point of contact for our drivers, relaying information, and updates. Responsibilities * Manage daily dispatching of facility drivers for all pick-ups and vendor deliveries. * Work the logistics window to greet customers and vendors that visit the department. * Maintain contact with drivers, tracking movements throughout the day to monitor schedules. * Coordinate with outside carriers to ensure timely pick-ups and deliveries. * Ensure all required paperwork is obtained from drivers and vendors, accurately submitting it into our system. * Assist in coordinating mulch pick-ups and CHEP returns. * Provide assistance with shipping and receiving in tracking inventory levels as needed. * Support facility leadership in managing the dispatch and order calendars. * Escalate matters to the Transportation Manager as needed. * Foster exceptional and collaborative partnerships with PLA staff, vendors, and customers. * Perform other duties as assigned. Experience & Education * 2+ years of experience as a dispatcher or similar role. * Some knowledge of relevant DOT regulations. * High School Diploma or equivalent preferred. * Any combination of education and experience will be considered. Physical & Environment * Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk working on a computer. * Must be able to lift 15 pounds at times. * Most duties are performed in a climate-controlled environment. Hazards require the use of personal protective equipment while in facility production areas.
