Description Job Type: Full-Time Location: Detroit, MI (Detroit Airport) KEY RESPONSIBILITIES Reporting to the Lead Dispatcher and Duty Operations Manager, the Dispatcher will oversee the Detroit Airport North Terminal Operations Center (TOC) on a 24/7/365 basis. The shift for this position is Saturday through Wednesday, 2:00pm - 10:30pm. When on shift, the Dispatcher will be required to successfully work under pressure and collaboratively with numerous other DANTeC entities, in addition to his or her role performing with various administrative duties. The Dispatcher will also directly support the organization’s preventative and corrective maintenance programs along with inventory and accounting functions. The Dispatcher will: 1. Answer phone calls, maintain contact logs for each specific request (i.e., operational requests, maintenance malfunctions, and custodial services as needed), and dispatch maintenance, custodial, or supervisors to address issues as appropriate. 2. Monitor the operational status of airport systems, equipment, and facilities via upper-level control screens, and dispatch maintenance or jam services as appropriate. 3. Escalate matters to the on-shift Duty Manager or emergency services as appropriate. 4. Perform data entry as necessary to oversee the organization’s Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS) and other work logs. 5. Create purchase orders and track spare parts inventory. 6. Maintain operational information logs (e.g., airline activity, gate use, etc.) as directed by the Duty Manager. 7. Assist Duty Managers with drafting letters, reports, and correspondence as requested. 8. other duties as assigned PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE / QUALIFICATIONS To perform this job successfully, the selected individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions. - Two years’ experience role is desired; similar roles in an airport environment is preferable. - Demonstrated ability to facilitate effective communications in a multi-stakeholder environment - Ability to solve problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardizations exist. - Ability to review/write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. - Ability to effectively respond to questions from key stakeholders, employees, clients, customers, and the general public. - Excellent communication skills. - Demonstrated proficiency with MS office tools. - Local experience at DTW will be considered a plus.
