PART TIME DISPENSER

Rye Medical Centre is a purpose built training and dispensing GP practice with approximately 7000 patients. We are looking for an enthusiastic, experienced pharmacy dispenser to join our friendly team on a part time basis. Hours will be :
Wednesday, Thursday, Friday 09.00-18.00
(Dispensary Managers experience)
If you are anything like me, working in community pharmacy for nearly 10 years and feeling like you are not full-filling your qualifications/skills, because you are having to meet unrealistic targets and deadlines, having to be a retail assistant 90% of your time because of lack of staff and not getting job satisfaction.
Dispensing surgeries you do not have any of those stresses you get to use those skills/qualification you trained for and get a great job satisfaction helping patients first hand- I have never regretting going from community pharmacy to a Dispensing surgery ever and I have been here for 5 years now, it has given me a massive amount of pride and enjoyment and I know it would you too.
The successful candidate will have a minimum: Pharmacy Service Skills NVQ level 2 qualification, with at least 1 year experience in working in Dispensary environment.
You will be working as a part of a friendly and dedicated team to deliver the Practice’s core ethos: to provide high-quality, patient focused, primary healthcare in a responsive, supportive and courteous manner whilst ensuring all staff and patients are treated with dignity, honesty and respect.

Core duties but not limited to the role are:

  • Process and interpret prescriptions efficiently and accurately
  • Pick items efficiently, accurately and check own work for errors
  • Identify erroneous components on an order
  • Ensure effective stock rotation and that products picked have an acceptable shelf life
  • Working knowledge of GPhC regulations on dispensing practices (i.e. labelling, storage, hygiene requirements)
  • Complete documentation as required by organisational procedures and regulatory standards
  • Preferred experience with monitored Dosage System (MDS)

Skills required include:

  • Competent in the use of IT – we are fully computerised and paper light, using Emis Web
  • Excellent numeracy and literacy skills
  • Effective written & verbal communicator
  • Excellent telephone manner
  • Excellent attention to detail
  • Ability to be focused and meet tight deadlines
