JOB DESCRIPTION

We are currently seeking a qualified and experienced Dispensing Optician / Store Manager to lead our practice. This position combines hands-on dispensing with the day-to-day management of the store.
The ideal candidate will be a registered dispensing optician with a strong background in optical retail and a passion for delivering outstanding patient care. You’ll play a key role in the smooth running of the practice while also working to achieve business goals.

REQUIREMENTS

  • GOC-registered Dispensing Optician (preferred)
  • Previous experience in a managerial or team leader role within optical retail (preferred)
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • A patient-focused approach with a genuine desire to deliver top-tier service
  • Commercial awareness with the ability to analyse performance and meet KPIs
  • Strong organisational and problem-solving skills
Responsibilities
  • Dispense prescription glasses, lenses, and frames to a high clinical and service standard
  • Lead and motivate the team to maintain excellent patient care and customer service
  • Manage daily operations including staff rota, inventory control, and visual merchandising
  • Drive store performance to meet and exceed set sales and service targets
  • Provide staff training and development to support team growth and maintain standards
  • Ensure compliance with GOC and NHS regulations
  • Handle patient feedback and resolve any concerns professionally and promptly
  • Collaborate with the practice owners on business strategy and performance reviews
