Our Organization and Mission: The Office represents the State of Florida in state and federal civil and criminal courts, from trial courts to the Supreme Court of the United States.
Position Summary: This Distributed Computer Systems Analyst position in the Information Technology (IT) Unit in the Office of the Attorney General in Tallahassee, Florida.
Pay: $46,000.00 - $48,000.00 Annually

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • A bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university and two years of experience in computer systems analysis, computer programming or in planning or designing distributed computer systems; or
  • A bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university with major course of study in one of the computer sciences or in management information systems and one year experience in computer systems analysis, computer programming or in planning or designing distributed computer systems; or
  • A master’s degree from an accredited college or university with major course of study in one of the computer sciences or in management information systems; or
  • Three (3) years of experience as described above and either (1) completion of a 1440 classroom hour program of study from a vocational/technical school or accredited community college in an area of data processing (excluding data entry), or (2) 60 semester or 90 quarter hours of college course work from an accredited institution which includes four courses in computer science or management information systems.
  • Experience as described above can be substituted on a year-for-year basis for the required college education.
  • Completion of a one (1) year program of study from a vocation/technical school in an area of data processing (excluding data entry) can substitute for one (1) year of the required experience.

The Work You Will Do: The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to the following:

  • 10% Work Performance: Knowledge of methods, techniques, and skills necessary for the performance of the job and demonstrate the ability to execute all assigned duties and tasks effectively and efficiently. Quality of work is accurate and thoroughly completed within established time frames and amount of work completed meets or exceeds expectations. Able to perform the duties of the position through the competent use of work methodologies, computer applications, office equipment and related tools.
  • 10% Dependability: Begin work at regularly assigned time and is present during OAG “core” hours; assiduously observe lunch and break times; demonstrate ethical standards in the performance of work responsibilities; use leave in a manner that is not disruptive to the work unit.
  • 10% Interpersonal Skills: Maintain pleasant working relations; exhibit tact and sensitivity in dealing with others; responsive to questions and concerns; work effectively with internal/external users; present a positive attitude; demonstrate the appropriate attitude to assignments.
  • 30% Network Support: Responsible for installation, support, maintenance, repair, and standardization of network equipment, to include desktops, network printers, TCPIP and Microsoft networking configuration. Performs on-going networking audits and ensures security and integrity of all distributed network systems. Familiarity with set up and maintenance of network printers using Managed Print Services.
  • 10% Applications Support and Microsoft Support: Troubleshooting and maintenance of applications at the desktop level. Implement upgrades agency wide as required, including users in Jacksonville and Pensacola. Troubleshooting and maintenance of Office 365 on PCs including Outlook email.
  • 10% Familiarity and use of desktop sharing software (such as BeyondTrust) for remote support of PCs in the OAG network.
  • 5% Videoconferencing configure videoconferencing machines to be used for connection to branch offices. Troubleshoot and repair problems with videoconferencing equipment and software as needed, but not limited to PC hardware, cameras, displays, and Teams troubleshooting. Help with setup and operation of videoconferences as requested by Executive Staff in the Tallahassee office.
  • 10% Keep track of inventory control of hardware within the region. This includes IT and Computer peripherals.
  • 5% Performs other related duties as required.

JOB DESCRIPTION

  • Receive electronic email requesting assistance or service on the operation of hardware, software, and automated business applications.
  • Consults with users to resolve help desk queries for repair/maintenance of existing systems or assign appropriate IT staff or to the appropriate external support service person or entity.
  • Management of the help desk operation is accomplished using a customized HCL Notes application that allows for the logging and tracking of help desk emails and in emergency situations telephone calls.
  • Analyzes and resolves hardware, software and telecommunications problems using diagnostic software and/or technical troubleshooting processes.
  • Installation and implementation of new or repaired statewide local area network hardware, phones and/or software applications.
  • Repairing laser printers, desktops, laptops and miscellaneous equipment as required.
  • Moving heavy computer equipment, which may include loading and unloading trucks, use of hand trucks and carts.
  • Travel is required to support offices located in Tallahassee, Pensacola, and Jacksonville
  • VoIP - Configure and support Avaya phones.
  • HCL Notes support - troubleshoot problems in HCL Notes applications at the desktop level.
  • Implement upgrades agency wide to HCL Notes systems as required in the North Florida region. Work hand in hand with HCL Notes Development staff with troubleshooting any problems on individual applications developed exclusively by and for the Office of the Attorney General Information Technology Section.
  • Support of hardware interfaced with the HCL Notes System for the purposes of printing and or scanning from or to a HCL Notes tracking database for the purpose of support of cases being handled by the Office of the Attorney General.
  • Videoconferencing - assist with video conference PC setup in conjunction with Teams, Zoom and GoToMeeting.
  • Assist the Office of the Attorney General’s development staff, troubleshooting the installation of new custom applications and databases.
  • Implement client upgrades agency wide as required, on desktop and laptop workstations located in Tallahassee, Pensacola, and Jacksonville offices.
  • Support all hardware interfaced with OAG developed applications for the purpose of e-discovery or document management,
  • Assisting users printing or scanning data, associated with cases being handled by the Office of the Attorney General.
  • Configure HCL Notes client desktop for new or transferred users prior to their start date.
  • Microsoft Office - Support and implementation of Microsoft Office. Conversion of customized templates from WordPerfect to Microsoft Office for use by legal and support staff of the Office of the Attorney General.
  • Troubleshoot problems in Microsoft Office as used by the legal staff within the Office of the Attorney General.
  • Implementation of Microsoft Office and customized legal templates used by the Office of the Attorney General. Also implement and support legal applications from West Law used in conjunction with Microsoft Office.
  • Remote Administration- Troubleshooting and support of legal staff with problems and general use of OAG VPN; our remote networking system for use by staff traveling abroad for connection to the network.
  • Bitlocker encryption- Implementation, troubleshooting and support for Bitlocker encryption for windows mobile devices in the South Florida region.
  • Access to external agencies – Provide support for certain users who are granted access to external agencies through software/portals. (ie, eAgent for FDLE, BlueZone for SUNCOM/CDC into DOC/FLAIR)
  • Discovery – Support users who receive electronic discovery via media (ie, CD, DVD, thumb drive) whereby viewing the information requires the installation of third-party software that is proprietary to the data.
  • OnBase Support- supports OAG document management system OnBase.
  • Lexmark Managed Print Services- Set up and support of Lexmark MPS for agency network printers. Includes contacting Lexmark support for printer maintenance and repair.
  • Adobe DC Pro- Install and support Adobe DC Pro from Adobe Admin Console.
  • Familiarity and use of OAG imaging software and processes for the deployment of agency PCs
  • Familiarity, use and troubleshooting of Avaya Phone system including submission of help tickets to service provider Hayes for advanced support.
  • Familiarity and use of desktop sharing software (such as BeyondTrust) for remote support of PCs in the OAG network.
  • Performs other work as required. Special projects may require extended hours and/or travel outside of the worksite.
