Description Empowering the community to alleviate hunger and improve health. That’s the mission, how will you drive it? You’ll work independently and perform a variety of routine shipping and receiving tasks as well as Inventory tasks. You’ll compare identifying information on incoming or outgoing shipments with purchase orders, invoices, or other documents. You’ll inspect loads to determine appropriate actions such as can load be worked directly into inventory, or does it need work to ensure the quality, integrity, and accuracy of the shipment. This is what you’ll do! · You’ll assist to monitor and maintain current inventory accuracy; process purchase orders as required; assist in investigating inventory problems · You’ll be an innovative problem solver, able to identify a problem, and fix it independently · You’ll create loads and checks shipments that are to be sent to agencies · You’ll receive help in unloading of products and compare information with packing slips with purchase orders to verify accuracy of shipments. · You’ll determine independently how to work the load; can it be sorted easily or does it need a more thorough sort and quality check. · You’ll sort, count, package, label, insure, unpack and or logs inventory, which is shipped or received. · You’ll inspect shipments for damages or defects: records discrepancies or damages and notify the Regional Director. · You’ll check the inventory system for available bin locations for items received or worked in quality control. · You’ll maintain department database, prepare routine receiving reports, and file shipping and receiving records. · You’ll need to be able to operate pallet jacks and forklifts in unloading, loading and moving of products. · You’ll assist receiving/quality control department in cleaning duties. · You’ll follow established departmental policies, procedures, and objective, continuous quality improvement objectives, and safety and or infection control standards. · You’ll ensure proper care in the use and maintenance of equipment and supplies · You’ll promote workplace safety. · Lastly, you’ll perform miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned. This is what you’ll need: · Education and Experience High school graduate or equivalent and 3 - 5 years of warehouse experience. Experience in food industry preferred · Technical Proficiencies Knowledge of Microsoft Office and logistics software You’ll have to have the ability to multitask, analyze and sole problems. You’ll have knowledge of supplies and equipment, and inventory control. You’ll have the ability to reconcile stock counts to report data. Physical Requirements and Work Environment You’ll work primarily in a warehouse environment You’ll find frequent standing, walking, bending and lifting up to 50 pounds You may encounter exposure to fumes and/or airborne particles, and hear moderate to loud noise from warehouse equipment This position requires work schedule flexibility with occasional weekend and evening availability
