JOB DESCRIPTION

This role involves performing detailed design of overhead and/or underground electric distribution systems. The responsibilities include preparing field notes, drawings, specifications, and design estimates. The candidate must possess the analytical competence to interact with a variety of individuals, including engineers and experienced distribution system designers.

ESSENTIAL SKILLS

• Experience working on CPS projects, specifically large or small commercial.
• High school diploma required.
• Understanding of distribution design, electrical design, and power distribution.
• Minimum of 2 years of experience in electric utility or telecommunications field preferred.
• Familiarity with National Electrical Safety Code (NESC) preferred.
• Knowledge of CAD software, with Microstation preferred, but AutoCAD or GIS is also acceptable.

ADDITIONAL SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS

• Associate degree in electrical, civil, or mechanical engineering or a similar discipline is preferred.
• 3 phase underground certification from CPS is required.
• Proficient use of engineering software is preferred.
• Familiarity with underground design and three-phase systems is advantageous.
