Reporting to the Manager, BC Interior Operations, the Distribution Engineering Co-op Student is responsible for assisting in the overall execution of underground/overhead electrical distribution projects at our Kelowna or Trail locations.
This role is open to students available for an 8-month term starting in September 2025.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Interpersonal skills that help develop business relationships and foster a friendly work environment.
  • Strong collaborative skills and willingness to liaise with others to ensure projects are accurate, compliant, on time, and on budget.
  • Demonstrated self-motivation and drive for improvement.
  • An ability to prioritize and manage multiple responsibilities.
  • Enrollment in a post secondary engineering degree or technologist diploma program.
  • A Class 5 driver’s license and access to a vehicle (preferred).

Responsibilities
  • Attending site visits for planning and implementation of electrical utility designs.
  • Design and drafting of underground and overhead electrical distribution infrastructure using AutoCAD.
  • Electrical and structural engineering calculations for underground and overhead systems.
  • Compiling material lists and project cost estimates.
  • Obtain approvals from and communicate with various stakeholders (electrical utility, customers, consultants, municipal and provincial authorities, etc.).
  • Tracking and actively advancing multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Help aid in the creation of internal tools and processes to improve work efficiency.
  • Other duties may be required related to completing the above work.
