Job Summary Create Music Group is currently looking for a Distribution Intern to join our Distribution Department. The Distribution intern will get an overview of how artists and labels release music to consumers in the world of independent music. This internship is designed to provide hands-on experience using CMG systems while developing comprehensive knowledge and strategies for distributing music and video for our clients. This is an unpaid, part-time internship designed for current students receiving college credit. Interns must be eligible to work in the U.S. and available for 20-25 hours per week over a 3–4 month term. Responsibilities Assisting our distribution team with daily operations, including: Metadata entry Quality assurance Queueing music releases Inquiries and digital release support Retrieving artist assets and metadata Updating spreadsheets and other administrative work Ongoing research as it relates to the client catalog Data entry Conducting basic level research Organizing large amounts of data efficiently Qualifications A student enrolled in post-secondary program with interest or experience in record label and/or distribution operations Familiar with streaming/download platforms (Spotify, Apple Music, Beatport, etc) Ability to organize large amounts of data efficiently Strong verbal and written communication skills Ability to be detail oriented and manage time effectively Previous music industry coursework/training preferred Familiar with many genres of music, including Hip Hop, Pop, Global, and various subgenres of dance/electronic preferred Program Details Start Date: Spring Semester/ Winter Quarter Length: 3 months Schedule: 20-25 hours per week Compensation: Unpaid, for academic or program credit only Reporting To: Senior Manager of Distribution
Responsibilities
The Distribution Intern will assist the distribution team with daily operations, including metadata entry and quality assurance. They will also support inquiries and digital releases while organizing large amounts of data efficiently.
