JOB SUMMARY:

The Distribution Manager (2nd Shift) provides guidance and supervision to ensure the accomplishment of distribution center goals, including those related to budget and cost structure.

Additional Info:

  • This position requires the candidate to work a 5 day-a-week schedule in the Corinth, MS facility.
  • This is a second shift position: Monday through Friday 2:00-10:00 PM
  • Relocation Offered: None.

  • Travel: Up to 10% (domestic only)

WHAT YOU HAVE (REQUIRED SKILLS):

  • Operational Functions: Knowledge of major functional processes and associated operating requirements; ability to apply this knowledge appropriately to diverse situations.
  • Coaching Others: Knowledge of coaching and mentoring concepts and methods; ability to encourage, motivate, and guide individuals in learning and improving effectiveness.
  • Customer Service Management: Knowledge of customer service priorities and ability to utilize tools and techniques for maintaining an environment where all understand, and are committed to providing excellent service to internal and external customers.
  • Leadership: Knowledge of leadership practices and processes; ability to use strategies and skills to enlist others in setting, embracing and achieving objectives while having a long-term perspective of the future state of things and how to get there.
  • Materials Handling and Management: Knowledge of material handling and management in plants; ability to perform, monitor and improve processes related to storage, transportation and handling of raw and hazardous materials.
  • Warehouse Management: Knowledge of the policies, processes and systems of warehouse management; ability to effectively manage one or more warehouses or distribution centers.

  • Distribution Center Management: Knowledge of distribution processes, issues and considerations; ability to effectively manage the receipt, storage, and distribution of inventory to stores and/or customers.

SUMMARY PAY RANGE:

$71,040.00 - $106,440.00
Compensation and benefits offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, job level, market location, job-related knowledge, skills, individual performance and experience. Please note that salary is only one component of total compensation at Caterpillar.

Responsibilities
  • Make workflow decisions under the direction of management. Improve service levels and costs for distribution center operations.
  • Supervise and motivate distribution center employees through effective coaching and training, clear communication of job expectations, and positive reinforcement of exemplary performance; maintain a positive distribution center working environment.
  • Implement productivity, quality, and service standards. Resolve problems and identify areas for improvements. Contribute performance data to strategic plans and reviews.
  • Ensure all equipment receives preventative maintenance and repairs, as necessary.
  • Adhere to requirements and procedures for safety regulations.
