About the Role

An established global manufacturer in the building products industry is seeking an experienced Distribution Manager for their site in Melbourne's Western Suburbs. Reporting to the Plant Manager, you'll take ownership of all distribution and warehouse operations, leading a team of around 10 forklift drivers and machine operators across a day shift.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and develop a team of forklift drivers and machine operators
• Oversee loading of finished product onto outbound trucks, managing pick times, damage rates and delivery performance
• Drive a strong safety culture, including hazard identification and risk assessment processes
• Manage inventory accuracy and cycle counts through SAP
• Sit on the plant management team, contributing to budgets, reporting and continuous improvement initiatives
• Contribute to CAPEX and investment proposals for the site

About You

• Proven experience managing a warehouse or distribution team in a manufacturing environment
• Experience operating within a unionised, EBA-covered workforce is essential
• Strong safety mindset and hands-on leadership style
• Proficiency in SAP or a similar ERP system
• Clear, professional communicator across all levels of the business
