POSITION SUMMARY

The Cafeteria Manager will oversee daily food service operations for Overton ISD, ensuring compliance with federal, state, and local child nutrition regulations. This individual will lead a small team in preparing and serving healthy meals, managing inventory and budgets, and maintaining a clean, safe, and efficient kitchen environment.

QUALIFICATIONS

• High school diploma or equivalent (required).
• Prior experience in food service management, preferably in a school setting.
• Knowledge of child nutrition guidelines and food safety practices.
• Strong organizational, communication, and leadership skills.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining high quality and safety standards.
• Basic computer skills for recordkeeping and reporting.

• Plan, prepare, and serve meals that meet USDA nutrition standards and district guidelines.
• Manage daily operations, including scheduling, staff supervision, and training.
• Balance and maintain cafeteria budget ensuring financial compliance
• Maintain accurate records for compliance, inventory, and financial reporting.
• Order and manage inventory of food, supplies, and equipment.
• Ensure the cafeteria meets health, safety, and sanitation standards.
• Work collaboratively with administrators, staff, and vendors to support student needs.
