Position Information
Committed to providing a safe and effective transportation system, the Beaumont District works with a variety of stakeholders and agencies for the benefit of the traveling public. It is responsible for the design, construction and maintenance of nearly 2,400 miles of state highway and more than 1,500 bridges in Southeast Texas. The district covers eight counties and is located along the Gulf Coast and adjacent to Louisiana.
Minimum Salary: 164,048.00 Maximum Salary: 277,446.00

Position Description
Provides executive-level direction, management and engineering oversight of all activities in a district, to include transportation planning, operations, right-of-way, design, construction, inspection, maintenance, safety and environmental functions, as well as administrative and support activities. Reports directly to the Director of District Operations. Recommends facilities, personnel staffing and funding levels required to carry out programs. Work requires travel. Work requires extensive contact with business and community leaders; contractors; special interest or trade groups; governmental and transportation officials at the local, state, federal or international levels; the media and private entities. Employees at this level perform work at the highest level of discretion and independent judgment and are responsible for final outcome.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Education: Bachelor’s Degree in an Engineering related discipline. Related graduate level education may be substituted for experience on a year per year basis. Substitutions for Minimum Qualifications
