Position: District Manager (Remote Camp)
Salary: $135,000 to $145,000
Location: British Columbia (Travel to other Provinces is required – approximately 50% to 60%)
Work Schedule: Monday to Friday

Coverage is as diverse as offshore oil rigs in the Gulf of Mexico, to coastal logging camps in B.C., to construction camps in the Alberta Oil Sands. Facilities are located within drill camps, mining camps, construction camps, pipeline camps, oil and gas installations and correctional facilities.
Overview: Directs and coordinates planning, direction and overall management activities for multiple remote camps. Provides guidance, support and motivation to site managers and associates. Establishes and maintains strong customer/client relationships.
Now, if you were to come on board as a District Manager, we’d ask you to do the following for us:
- Responsible for the effective management and profitability of assigned accounts, maximizing the district revenue growth.
- Promotes, monitors and ensures company performance standards.
- Develops and manages an effective network of client contacts with a focus on maintaining excellent client relationships and high levels of customer satisfaction that support account retention.
- Responsible for verifying Epay, WORs and Labor Planners for accuracy and within budget parameters on a weekly basis.
- Responsible for verifying and preparing monthly VPs report on budget compliance and discrepancies for all units of responsibility.
- Develops written project specific policies and procedures to ensure efficient and sustainable operations.
- Ensures staff compliance with all ESS and Compass Group operating policies and procedures.
- Assures contract compliance, and ensures staff awareness of ESS’s contractual obligations for the project.
- Maintain confidentiality of all company information.
- Continually reviews services with the object of reducing costs, increasing profitability and efficiency, without loss of standard.
- Supervises site management staff to ensure the highest levels of customer service are maintained in all areas of responsibility in accordance with company, client, and guest expectations.
- Provides timely and accurate reporting to company and client representatives, as required.
- Ensures all health and safety policies and procedures are adhered to and/or addressed and resolved promptly.
- Conducts accident investigations and complete necessary documentation.
- Monitors labour to ensure compliance with budgets.
- Ensures that each units financial performance meets the Company and client forecasts. Develops realistic and accurate district forecasts. Monitors development of realistic and accurate unit forecasts.
- Conducts and/or monitors customer, client and associate satisfaction surveys.
- Participates in new business RFP processes.

- Have 3-5 years of food service management experience in a multi-unit dining and retail food service setting.
- Previous Remote Camp Management experience is preferred.
- Possess a Hospitality and Food Service Management degree or diploma.
- Have strong business acumen as well as a creative entrepreneurial mindset.
- Excellent interpersonal and client relationships building skills.
- Outstanding communication (written and verbal) and organizational skills.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and teams and set clearly define objectives.
- Proven management skills; capable of motivating, leading and developing associates.
- Hard working team player.
- Highly organized and detail-oriented.
- Able to work in a fast paced environment and readily adaptable to change work priorities at any time.
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office, Word and Excel.
