JOB DESCRIPTION:

We are seeking an enthusiastic and engaging experienced Surveyor to join our team. The ideal candidate will provide professional and technical advice to head teachers and premises managers across diverse educational and operational environments. Your responsibilities will include delivering minor building projects and coordinating reactive repairs using established framework contractors within a designated geographical area.
The District Surveyor will act as the first point of contact for our clients and is expected to be able to provide sound professional advice on all property related matters. Managing client relationships and setting expectations are fundamental for this customer focused role. Co-ordinating all contract work from inception to completion, advising on statutory requirements including Planning, Building Control, Asbestos and Fire Safety are necessary in order to assist our clients in fulfilling their Premises Management responsibilities. Providing advice on the priorities for planned programmes of work and at the same time responding to urgent reactive maintenance requirements are all part of our service.
Candidates must be able to review, analyse, advise and report on service level agreements and client’s planned & reactive maintenance budget expenditure. To manage the SLA agreement with member schools providing premises management, strategy and planning advice together with 24/7 emergency assistance. The provision of support and advice on complex and technical areas of school building; operation, management, funding and Health & Safety compliance including the Construction Design and Management (CDM) Regulations and HSAW Act.
This role also provides consultant advice to external clients and the schools aided sector including the Diocese of Cumbria, Lancaster, Blackburn, Salford, Liverpool and West Yorkshire.
You should be able to proactively collaborate with other members of the Building Design Team, and across the workplace’s other Design and Construction disciplines, working within well-defined functional objectives yet questioning and challenging workplace practices and procedures based on improvements in technology, legislation or improved efficiencies.
