DIVE SUPERVISOR – COMMERCIAL DIVING & SUBSEA OPERATIONS

Location: Based in Western Canada – Travel Required Across BC, AB, SK, and Remote Sites

POSITION OVERVIEW

We are seeking a CSA/WorkSafe BC-compliant Dive Supervisor to oversee commercial diving operations across Western Canada. This role requires a highly disciplined leader with experience managing surface-supplied dive teams, ensuring regulatory compliance, and maintaining top-tier safety standards on every job.
As Dive Supervisor, you will coordinate and oversee projects involving potable and non-potable reservoirs, marine structures, pipelines, outfalls, intakes, salvage, inspections, and construction support. This is a travel-based position with the option to be based anywhere in BC or Alberta.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Valid DCBC Dive Supervisor Certification
  • Minimum 3–5 years of experience supervising commercial diving teams
  • Strong working knowledge of CSA Z275.2, Z275.4, and WorkSafe BC Part 24 regulations
  • Experience with potable water diving, reservoir cleaning, marine construction, and/or contaminated diving preferred
  • Comfortable with technology including helmet-mounted CCTV, diver comms, sonar systems, and digital reporting
  • Valid OFA Level 1 (minimum), Dive Accident Management, driver’s license, and ability to travel extensively
  • Additional assets: ROV or pipe crawler experience, NDT certifications, rope access, confined space rescue
Responsibilities
  • Lead and supervise 3–5-person surface-supplied dive teams in accordance with CSA Z275.2 and WorkSafe BC
  • Conduct pre-dive briefings, hazard assessments, job safety analysis (JSA), and dive logs
  • Ensure all equipment, communications, and emergency procedures are in place and operational
  • Maintain safety compliance and quality control across all diving activities
  • Coordinate mobilization, site setup, and daily logistics for each project
  • Liaise with clients and project managers on-site to ensure job satisfaction and real-time updates
  • Assist with underwater inspections, documentation, and video collection as required
  • Mentor junior divers and ensure adherence to safe work practices
  • Complete all post-dive reporting, incident documentation (if applicable), and daily summaries
