    The NTEU (Queensland Division) is seeking to employ three (3) Industrial Officers to be based primarily at the Queensland Division Office in Taringa. The positions involve regular travel to all Queensland campuses. One position is part-time (at 0.5) and offered as an ongoing role, one position is full-time, and offered as a fixed-term contract until April 2026 and one position is for a full-time casual until a date to be determined.
    The NTEU is a federally registered membership-led union with coverage of academic and general staff in higher education. The NTEU represents workers in all Queensland universities and their associated student organisations, research institutes and companies.

ESSENTIAL REQUIREMENTS:

Relevant tertiary qualifications or equivalent; campaign skills (including a demonstrated commitment to and understanding of the principles of organising); training skills; experience in the trade union movement and commitment to trade union principles; demonstrated experience in advocacy before tribunals; demonstrated experience in negotiating agreements; excellent communication skills; and a current drivers licence.

Responsibilities

Co-ordinating industrial and organising campaigns; providing members with industrial advice and training; negotiating collective agreements; advocacy before industrial tribunals and internal university tribunals; and negotiating with higher education managements on individual and collective cases and disputes.
