As a Dock Coordinator for H-E-B Transportation, you'll prioritize, coordinate, and delegate tasks related to load and unload trailers for H-E-B and Parkway. You'll ensure a safe, productive work place, and resolve escalated issues within specific parameters. Administration / Scheduling: - Prioritizes / coordinates / delegates daily loading and unloading of all H-E-B and Parkway trailers, including salvage, Store returns, and reusables - Ensures Dockworkers are loading and unloading trailers in a safe, productive, and efficient manner, in compliance with SOPs - Applies a clear understanding of daily and department needs and all MWT service requirements - Communicates effectively / coordinates with Yard side of the business - Monitors productivity and accuracy of Spotters assigned to work area; fully uses YMS - Checks drivers in and out; directs them to specific areas of work; ensures paperwork is complete - Provides / performs end of shift updates which detail attendance, punctuality, performance, inventory, bale reports, status of salvage, and any issues encountered - Resolves escalations if within parameters; reports to higher parties if unable to resolve - Coordinates dockworkers within a specific parameter; escalates issues outside parameter - Performs Distribution Partner I duties What is your background? - High school diploma or equivalent - 2+ years of experience Do you have what it takes to be a fit as a Dock Coordinator for H-E-B Transportation? - Working knowledge of OSHA and MSD regulations - Advanced computer skills (MS Office and in-house systems) - Advanced communication skills (written & verbal) - Math skills (+, -, *, /) - Reading and writing skills - Organization skills - Bi-lingual (English - Spanish) skills a plus - Ability to communicate effectively across multiple areas - Ability to work in a team environment - Ability to operate machines and equipment in a safe, independent manner - Ability to operate H-E-B in-house systems (e.g., mainframe and YMS) - Ability to obtain and maintain certification in pallet jack and forklift operation - Attention to detail Can you... - Constantly* stand, walk, and squat - Frequently lift and carry 7 lbs for duration of a 10 to 12-hour shift - Occasionally lift up to 57 lbs - Occasionally reach overhead, at shoulder, knee, and floor, bend, stoop, squat, crouch, kneel, climb stairs, and pivot - Work in multi-temperature zones * While there may be exceptions, the measurements noted are generally defined as--Constantly: 5.5+ hours per 8-hour day; Frequently: 2.5 - 5.5 hours per 8-hour day; Occasionally: 0 - 2.5 hours per 8-hour day 10-2022
