Dock Workers are responsible for consolidating freight, building and shrink-wrapping pallets, loading product, operating a stand-up forklift, scanning product using an RF gun, and meeting established productivity and performance standards. Responsibilities Looks up part numbers, quantities, product locations, and customer information on the computer, as appropriate. Receives orders through supervisor from prepared and prioritized work tags. Pulls orders from inventory, manually and/or utilizing forklift. Prepares materials for delivery to and/or pick up by customers. Packs materials in boxes or on pallets (as appropriate), and labels accordingly. Checks filled orders prior to delivery or pick up to ensure accuracy and timeliness of order. Maintains cleanliness of the overall facility to support safety standards, with an emphasis on the area assigned to the work group. Consolidate and build pallets, shrink wrap pallets, load products on to trailers by hand or Stand up forklift. Qualifications Any combination of education and experience providing the required skill and knowledge for successful performance of the job would qualify. High school diploma/GED or equivalent education Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines. Strong verbal, written, and reading communication skills. Dedication to delivering excellent customer service and ensuring customer satisfaction. Proficient in time management, consistently meeting responsibilities within designated timeframes. Collaborative mindset, fostering positive relationships with internal stakeholders and external interactions with customers and manufacturers. Basic math skills, including counting and performing computations up to four digits. Attention to detail and strong organizational skills. Basic computer skills, including keyboarding. Proficient in English, including reading, writing, and oral communication. Strong problem-solving abilities, considering all factors and recommending appropriate solutions. Adherence to workplace rules, methods, policies, and procedures. Specific vision abilities required for this job include distance vision, peripheral vision, and depth perception. Environmental Conditions: The employee is frequently exposed to moving mechanical parts and outside weather conditions. Occasionally, the employee may be exposed to high, precarious places and vibration. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
