Description The Yard Driver / Dock & Material Handler is a cross-functional role responsible for supporting yard, dock, and warehouse operations to ensure efficient and safe material flow. This position primarily operates a yard truck (terminal tractor) to move, stage, and position trailers within the facility yard in alignment with shipping and production schedules. When yard operations are not required, this role supports dock and warehouse activities, including loading and unloading shipments, material handling, and operating powered industrial equipment such as forklifts. This position plays a critical role in maintaining operational flexibility, productivity, and adherence to safety standards across multiple areas of the facility. POSITION DETAILS Shift Times: 7:00AM - 3:30PM, M-F Pay Schedule: Weekly HERE'S WHAT YOU'LL DO Demonstrate the Core Values of Comfort Research in daily actions, execution of tasks, and interactions with others. Safely operate a yard truck (terminal tractor) to move, spot, and reposition trailers within the yard. Accurately align and secure trailers at designated dock doors to support loading and unloading activities. Perform and document pre- and post-trip inspections of yard equipment; report maintenance or safety issues promptly. Maintain real-time awareness of yard layout, trailer locations, and dock assignments to ensure efficient flow of operations. Adhere to all company safety policies and applicable Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) regulations. Load and unload inbound and outbound shipments using forklifts, pallet jacks, and manual handling techniques as needed. Stage, organize, and prepare materials for shipping, receiving, and production use. Accurately apply labels, verify documentation, and maintain inventory accuracy throughout material movement processes. Consolidate pallets and transport products to designated storage or production areas. Safely operate powered industrial trucks (e.g., forklifts) in accordance with training and certification requirements. Conduct routine equipment inspections and ensure proper maintenance of material handling equipment. Identify and report safety hazards, damaged products, or operational issues in a timely manner. Support production operations by replenishing materials and ensuring timely delivery of components to workstations. Support Operations team in shared goals and initiatives. HAVE FUN! Valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record required. Demonstrated ability to safely operate a yard truck (terminal tractor) or willingness to be trained. Ability to obtain and maintain powered industrial truck (forklift) certification. Prior experience in warehouse, dock, or distribution center operations preferred. Working knowledge of material handling practices and equipment preferred. Strong commitment to workplace safety and adherence to established safety standards. Ability to follow instructions, work independently, and contribute effectively in a team environment
