DOCTORAL RESEARCHER

for a third-party funded research and policy advice project
We are looking for a doctoral researcher to join our new research and policy advisory project, Industrial Policy Lab. In this role, you will work at the intersection of research and policy advice, focusing on industrial policy.
This part-time position (75%) is based in our Research Hub in Berlin. We seek individuals who are passionate about policy-relevant, data-driven research in the field of industrial policy and are eager to contribute to impactful and innovative projects.

This position offers a unique opportunity to take on responsibility in a dynamic research and policy advisory environment. You will:

  • Conduct independent and collaborative research on industrial policy, developing new insights and contributing to academic and policy discussions.
  • Support research-based policy advice, translating complex economic analyses into actionable recommendations for policymakers and stakeholders.
  • Support data collection, analysis, and methodology development for policy evaluation projects within the Industrial Policy Lab, ensuring high-quality and robust data-driven insights.
  • Be part of an innovative research team and work on a policy relevant research project, collaborating closely with a leading professor of economics to guide the strategic direction of the research and policy agenda. You will cooperate with project partners in academia and think tanks, as well as stakeholders such as ministries, members of parliament and the federal administration.
