JOB DESCRIPTION

NHS GP Receptionist and Administrator required to join our growing and ambitious team at Evergreen Surgery, located in a modern healthcare building Evergreen Primary Care Centre in Edmonton.
We are looking for exceptional individuals to join our Reception Team and help us grow the Practice’s image as friendly and professional.

The purpose of the role is to:

  • Full Time staff required to work 37.5 hours per week, during the surgery opening times from 8 am to 8 pm Monday to Sunday.
  • Offer general assistance to the practice team and project a positive and friendly image to patients and other visitors, either in person or via the telephone
  • Receive, assist and direct patients in accessing the appropriate service or healthcare professional in a courteous, efficient and effective way
  • Undertake a variety of administrative duties to assist in the smooth running of the Practice, including the provision of clerical support to clinical staff and other members of the practice team
  • Facilitate effective communication between patients, members of the primary health care team, secondary care and other associated healthcare agencies.

Responsibilities

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

The duties and responsibilities to be undertaken by the practice administration team members may include any or all of the items in the following list. In addition, duties may be varied from time to time under the direction of the senior receptionist/practice team manager, dependent on current and evolving practice workload and staffing levels:

  • EMIS Clinical System – full training will be provided,
  • Work within MS Windows and MS Office 365 environments
  • Processing patient website inquiries and responding to questions
  • Maintaining and monitoring the practice appointments system
  • Processing telephone requests for appointments, visits and telephone consultations and ensuring callers are directed to the appropriate healthcare professional
  • Processing and distributing incoming (and outgoing) mail (including scanning)
  • Taking messages and passing on information accurately
  • Processing prescriptions requests in accordance with practice protocols
