Description
About Ruffle At Ruffle, we build tools to help lawyers conduct financial detective work, so that they can get the best results for their clients. Instead of a lawyer manually reviewing hundreds or thousands of bank statements with a highlighter, Ruffle extracts transactions from bank statements and allows lawyers to filter, sort, search and graph them with the click of a button. It also prepares first draft court documents based on actual expenditure, and helps lawyers to critically assess court documents prepared by the other side. Ruffle gives lawyers insights they would otherwise lack, allowing them to impress their clients, reduce their risk, and increase their job satisfaction. Ruffle sits within LEAP, which is a member of the ATI group of companies - the leading provider of Legal Practice Productivity Solutions in the world. Over a 30-year period we've expanded across Australia, Canada, the United States, the United Kingdom, the Republic of Ireland, Poland and New Zealand and support more than 100,000 lawyers and their staff in small and medium sized law firms. We owe our success to our curiosity and commitment to our guiding purpose, to ‘Help lawyers who help people’. Meet the team Ruffle is a three-person team sitting within the larger LEAP business. The team includes Ruffle’s founder (a coder and entrepreneur), a senior full‑stack developer, and a Document Automation Supervisor. We have high autonomy, high flexibility, and low bureaucracy like a startup, while also enjoying the peace of mind and stability that come with being part of a mature, successful organisation. Working in a small team, you’ll take on a variety of interesting challenges as we grow Ruffle, making a meaningful impact by streamlining lawyers’ ability to analyse financial data, prepare accurate court documents, and deliver better outcomes for their clients. What you'll do You’ll review financial documents when our extraction tools hit edge cases - situations where balances don’t reconcile, formatting is unusual, or transactions behave in ways the software can’t interpret on its own. Using your judgement and attention to detail, you’ll correct errors, validate running balances, and ensure the data lawyers rely on is accurate. You’ll also help improve the product by flagging patterns, testing new features, and suggesting refinements to our internal tools. When the queue is quiet, you’ll jump into adjacent tasks like light research, user‑style testing, or helping the team refine processes as Ruffle scales. To make this happen, you will: Use internally-developed software tools to extract information from bank statements and other financial documents. Collaborate with team members to improve and refine those internally-developed software tools, always seeking improved accuracy, efficiency, and automation. Use your experience and initiative to suggest improvements to products and processes. Create documentation and other similar resources for the internal tools and the data extraction process. Provide other support to the development team as required, of an administrative, clerical, data-entry, or similar nature. What you'll bring Proficiency in using computer software, and comfort exploring new software without the benefit of manuals or training sessions. Sustained attention to detail even during long-running tasks. Proficiency in simple arithemetic and logical reasoning. Good written and verbal communication skills. You are the type of person who Curious nature and desire to continually improve products and processes.
