KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES

In this role, your responsibilities will include:

  • Processing incoming and outgoing documents and vendor data in different databases (PDM, PLM).
  • Registration, distribution, and expediting to ensure availability to authorized personnel and recipients.
  • Ensuring timely delivery of internal documents and vendor data.
  • Coordinating the internal and external stakeholders (customer, subcontractor, colleagues) to resolve document or data issues across different sub-projects.
  • Initiating effective mitigating actions in case of expected overrun of delivery times.
  • Reporting on the status and progress of Document Control activities.Identifying and implementing improvements for Document Control tasks

SKILLS & EXPERIENCE

We are looking for candidates with the following qualifications:

  • 2+ years of experience with document control, administration and processing vendor documents in a technical, logistic or production environment.
  • Experience working with PDM (Enovia) and PLM software.
  • Extensive experience with MS Office (Excel).
  • Bachelor’s degree, preferably in Business Administration or Logistical-related study.
  • Competencies: accuracy, proactive attitude, keen eye for detail, flexibility, good communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Good command of the English language, both written and verbal, is essential; ideally, you also have basic language skills in Dutch or German or are at least willing to learn one of these languages.
  • Excellent references, as a security screening is part of the hiring process.
  • Permanent EU citizenship and passport are both required. Candidates with EU (work) visa or with both an EU and non-EU nationality and/or passport are not eligible in accordance with the requirements imposed by the military nature of our projects.
Responsibilities

THE ROLE

As the Document Controller at Damen Naval, you will play an important supporting role in the build of state-of-the-art naval vessels. You will support a naval-shipbuilding project team by managing and exchanging all relevant documentation with the customer, partners, and/or subcontractors. Your key responsibilities will include planning and executing scheduled internal and external document distributions, as well as coordinating follow-up to ensure timely and complete information exchange. You will ensure confidentiality by verifying that information is shared and available in compliance with all permissions. Additionally, you will be responsible for registering all exchanged information in the Product Data Management (PDM) and Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) systems under strict configuration control.
