Job Summary: We are looking for a Document Controller preferably with technical drafting skills who has strong organizational skills and a keen eye for detail. The ideal candidate should have 2–5 years of experience in document control within the construction or engineering sector in the UAE. Proficiency in MS Office and document control systems is essential, along with the ability to communicate effectively and manage multiple tasks under tight deadlines.
The Document Controller & Draftsman will be responsible for managing all project documentation—both internal and external—and ensuring accurate version control, distribution, and archiving. They will also prepare and update technical drawings and site layouts, supporting project managers and engineers throughout various project stages.

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE:

  • Diploma or Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Architecture, Drafting, or a related technical field
  • Certification in AutoCAD or other CAD software (preferred)
  • Training in Document Control procedures and systems (an advantage)
  • Proven experience (2–5 years) in a similar role, preferably in construction, engineering, or infrastructure projects
  • Strong understanding document workflows and version control.
  • Proficient in MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook), ERP (MS Dynamics or similar) document management systems
Responsibilities
  1. Document Control & Management
  • Maintain and organize all incoming and outgoing project documentation.
  • Ensure documents are filed, stored, and archived in compliance with company standards.
  • Manage document version control and track revisions accurately.
  • Distribute project documents to relevant internal teams and external stakeholders.
  • Ensure confidentiality and security of sensitive project documents.
  1. Project Drawing & Drafting
  • Prepare technical drawings for various stages of the project using AutoCAD or similar tools.
  • Revise and update drawings based on changes from engineers or site conditions.
  • Create detailed site layout drawings and construction sketches.
  • Assist with drawing submission packages and ensure drawing compliance with project specs.
  1. Support to Project Managers and Engineers
  • Collaborate closely with project managers to track document flow.
  • Support engineering teams with documentation, markups, and drawing modifications.
  • Attend site coordination meetings and update drawings accordingly.
  • Maintain drawing logs and submission schedules.
  1. Liaison with Internal & External Stakeholders
  • Communicate with suppliers, consultants, and contractors to exchange documentation.
  • Respond to document requests and queries from the project team or external partners.
  • Ensure timely submission and receipt of all project documentation.
