QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE:

  • Bachelor’s degree or Diploma in Business Administration, Engineering, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 3–5 years of experience in document control within the construction industry.
  • Familiarity with construction documentation and terminology.
  • Knowledge of ISO document control procedures is a plus.

SKILLS REQUIRED:

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) and document control software (e.g., Aconex, Procore, EDMS).
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills.
  • Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Good communication skills in English (verbal and written); Arabic is an advantage.
  • Ability to handle confidential information with integrity.
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
Responsibilities

JOB PURPOSE:

The Document Controller is responsible for managing and overseeing all project-related documentation in a timely, accurate, and efficient manner. The role ensures that documents are properly stored, tracked, and distributed, in compliance with company and project standards, including regulatory and contractual obligations.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Maintain and manage all incoming and outgoing project documentation, including drawings, submittals, RFI, method statements, inspection requests, and contracts.
  • Create, update, and manage document control systems (hard copy and electronic).
  • Ensure all documentation follows the approved document numbering system.
  • Control the issuance and revision of documents according to project procedures.
  • Distribute documents to internal departments, subcontractors, consultants, and clients as required.
  • Ensure that only the latest revision of documents are used in the field and by the team.
  • Coordinate with engineers, site teams, and subcontractors to ensure timely submission of documentation.
  • Assist the QA/QC and HSE departments with the control of inspection reports and safety records.
  • Archive project documentation in a systematic and accessible manner.
  • Maintain confidentiality of sensitive information.
  • Assist in preparing reports and document logs for project management and audits.
  • Provide support during internal and external audits.
