Document Controller or Senior Document Controller Iconic $m–$bn Utilities & Energy Projects Join UGL’s Utilities Engineering group, supporting a portfolio of power, energy and infrastructure projects across NSW, QLD, VIC, WA and SA. Our work spans transmission lines, substations, renewables, major joint ventures and early-stage tenders. The document control team supports up to 40–45 active projects at any one time, ranging from smaller packages through to multi-million-dollar infrastructure programs. Based out of our North Sydney head office, you’ll be part of a close knit, collaborative document control team that works closely with design managers, engineers and project teams with strong knowledge sharing across the team. About the role This role is responsible for setting up, managing and maintaining document control systems to ensure project documentation is accurate, compliant and issued on time. You’ll work across multiple document control platforms (often concurrently), manage document registers and transmittals, and support design submissions and client deliverables. The role suits either an experienced Document Controller ready to step up, or an established Senior Document Controller looking to work across complex, technically interesting projects. Key responsibilities Set up, manage and maintain document control systems for projects and tenders, including document and drawing registers. Register, track, distribute, revise and archive controlled project documentation. Manage document workflows and ensure compliance with UGL, client and ISO9001 requirements Coordinate design submissions, transmittals and revisions, reviewing documents for accuracy, format and compliance. You'll need: Hands‑on document control experience with electronic document management systems within engineering, utilities, construction or heavy industry. Strong attention to detail and the ability to manage high volumes of documentation across multiple concurrent projects, with sound knowledge of document control procedures and quality requirements. Clear communication skills and a team focused approach.
