Our state-of-the-art, climate-controlled manufacturing facility houses the latest Amada metal fabrication machinery, positioning us for even higher levels of quality and efficiency.
At Newco, we are seeking a Documentation Specialist to join our Quality and Engineering teams to create a variety of customer-facing literature, including user manuals, troubleshooting guides, parts manuals, and instruction sheets. You will also be tasked with implementing edits to existing documentation based on feedback and inbound requests.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Walking & standing up to 8 hours a day.
  • Ability to lift up to 25lbs from floor to waist.
  • Ability to lift overhead up to 25lbs.
  • Warehouse/Plant environment.

Requirements:

  • Minimum of 2 years of experience writing documentation and procedural materials for multiple audiences, both internal and external.
  • Experience working with engineering to improve user experience: design, UI, and help refine content and create visuals and diagrams for technical support content
  • Proficiency using Microsoft Office software (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint)
  • Proficiency using Google Docs, Sheets, Slides
  • Good communication skills, both verbal and written
  • Excellent attention to detail
  • Ability to be on-site at Newco
  • Experienced with common shop tools and mechanical assembly techniques preferred
  • Technical degree preferre

Responsibilities
  • Create and maintain product documentation such as operating instructions, technical detail sheets, and customer specific certifications and processes. Work closely with subject matter experts including engineering, product management, customer service, and marketing teams.
  • Create, proofread, and edit technical documents, manuals, and guides using various applications, including those from Google and Microsoft.
  • Edit photos and graphics to create illustrations for technical documents.
  • Record notes and photographs of product assembly procedures in a manufacturing environment.
  • Interface with Engineering Quality, and Technical Support staff during documentation drafting and editing.
  • Update existing documents while adhering to established formatting guidelines, while helping to refine those guidelines.
  • Maintain an organized documentation repository.
  • Field inquiries and requests from internal team members related to technical documentation.
  • Maintain accurate records of document status, change controls, reviews, and approvals.
