SUMMARY

Xirgo is hiring for a Documentation Specialist to own the suite of documentation informing and guiding our customer base. With an IoT-centric product portfolio spanning tracking devices, dashcams, AI, and cloud platforms, documentation makes the critical information leap from product features to customer value. QUALIFICATIONS/BACKGROUND

  • Bachelor’s Degree in English, Technical Writing, Communications, Computer Science, related fields, or equivalent vocational training
  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience in technical document creation
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills, including the ability to articulate clear messages from complex data/information
  • Knowledge of the structure and content of the English language including vocabulary and grammar/syntax
  • Proven ability to create clear, concise, and well-structured documentation for complex technical topics, adjusting language to suit target audience
  • Experience with the full span of IoT product types (hardware, software, mobile, cloud) a plus
  • Highly organized with sharp ability to prioritize
  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office suite
  • Experience with Adobe create suite/desktop publishing, technical illustration, email marketing, and online content management is preferred
  • Must have the unrestricted authorization to work in the U.S.
Responsibilities
  • Develop, write, and maintain customer-facing product documentation, including user guides, installation guides, API documentation, release notes, field-facing product briefs, and training content (written and video)
  • Collaborate with Product Managers, Engineering, Support, and other customer-facing teams to pull in raw content and synthesize into well-composed explanatory documentation for customer consumption
  • Ensure consistency across product documentation: Appropriate terminology, tone, and level of detail is applied across our documentation suite
  • Develop and apply style guides within brand definitions
  • Create design elements (tables, diagrams, illustrations) to convey information most clearly
  • Shift seamlessly between writing precise instructional documentation and more conversational, benefit-focused announcements
  • Coordinate third party contractors when utilizing outside resources to realize expanded content creation
