Description Grey Street Consulting, LLC (Grey Street), a leading small business provider of Project Assistants operational support services to Federal civilian and defense agencies, is seeking to hire a Seasonal Project Assistant to support our clients within the Department of Energy from January 2, 2026 to June 30th, 2026. Department of Energy is located in Germantown, MD, currently, this position is being performed remotely. Candidates need to be agreeable to the possibility of the government returning staff on-site, potentially multiple days per pay period in the future. Essential Duties and Responsibilities The Project Assistant will provide clerical, data entry, word processing, and general administrative support as part of a multi-person project/task team at the U.S. Department of Energy facility in Germantown, Maryland. The Project Assistant will be responsible for: Receiving, sorting, and monitoring grant applications by assigned topics; Distributing grant applications for evaluation; Professionally and tactfully interacting with Technical Managers and reviewers to ensure information is received on schedule; Processing a high volume of electronic data and hard copy documents; Other administrative processes and duties, as necessary to ensure program success; Capability of learning additional software that may be required for the position. Requirements Job Requirements and Experience High School Diploma or Equivalent; At least one year of related work experience; Proven computer skills, including a working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook; A high degree of professionalism, responsiveness, punctuality, and customer service; Excellent communication and organizational skills; Ability to work well under stress on numerous projects/tasks for multiple individuals in a schedule-driven work environment; Ability to be constantly and consistently available during normal work hours (8:30 a.m. – 5:00 p.m., Monday through Friday); and, Superior people skills with demonstrated ability to create positive rapport with various stakeholders, generate and solicit high-quality responses, and meet internal and external deadlines and commitments. ADA Requirements Operate a PC and phone in an office environment. Work in a primarily sedentary position. Perform some bending, light lifting, and carrying of equipment may be required. Any additional office equipment that is required by the position. The specific research topics selected for the SBIR and STTR programs are developed by DOE technical program managers. DOE offers more than sixty technical topics and 250 subtopics, spanning research areas that support the DOE mission in Energy Production, Energy Use, Fundamental Energy Sciences, Environmental Management, and Defense Nuclear Nonproliferation.
