Description

From the employer: “I started my business 6 ½ years ago part time. As it got busier I decided to take the leap to full time and to get my own place. I am a pet groomer, dogs and cats, it is mostly dogs though. It has got to the point where I am turning away customers because I just can’t fit them in. As a trainer for 25 years in my previous job, I enjoy teaching people what I do, it is a passion. I therefore think it is now the time to build my business up a bit more by introducing another member of staff. That’s where my search for a new apprentice started.”
Typical duties for an apprentice will be, sweeping and hoovering, cleaning up after any ‘accidents’ with the dogs, cleaning the baths, tools, folding towels. After a period of training they will get more hands on with the dogs and bath and dry them. They will then progress to prepping dogs for the bath, which could include ear cleaning, brushing and clipping. Eventually they would be expected to complete a full groom, bath, dry, clip and scissor.

Duties will build up to include, but not limited to:

  • Welcoming customers to the salon
  • Preparing dogs for grooming, bathing, drying and nail clipping
  • Assisting in maintaining the high standards of cleanliness of the salon
  • Working as a team member to ensure the smooth running of a busy salon
  • Follow instructions from team members
  • Learning how to handle and style dogs

This is a fantastic opportunity for a passionate apprentice dog groomer to join our team to progress onto becoming a full time stylist. The salon is a friendly and fun place to work and would suit any hard working individual who loves all dogs!
