JOB SUMMARY

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate dog daycare assistant to provide exceptional care for our centre. The ideal candidate will have a genuine love for dogs and the ability to ensure their safety, health, and happiness while their owners are away. This role requires a responsible individual who can manage various tasks and maintain a positive relationship with the pets and eventually their owners. You will also act as “cover” when staff are on holiday.

EXPERIENCE

  • Previous experience in animal care, preferably dogs.
  • Qualifications in animal care or canine courses are preferable but not necessary. Training will be provided, as will a Dog First Aid course.
  • Strong customer service skills to foster positive relationships with pet owners.
  • Ability to perform cleaning tasks.
  • A genuine passion for animals and a commitment to providing high-quality care.
    Please note that this is a physical job. You will have to be capable of handling dogs of all sizes and strengths and being in a large outdoor environment with them. Responsibilities
  • Provide daily care for the dogs, including feeding, cleaning, washing, taking photographs, enrichment, behaviour monitoring and corrections.
  • Ensure the safety and well-being of the dogs during visits whilst maintaining communication with staff.
  • Maintain cleanliness in the centre.
  • Follow the correct processes and procedures at the centre.
  • Engage in playtime and exercise activities to keep dogs active and stimulated.
  • Once trained, you must communicate effectively with pet owners regarding their pets’ needs and any concerns.
  • Meeting and greeting clients once trained to do so.
  • Carry out daily health checks on the dogs and report any physical and behavioural change to management.
  • Able to work as part of a team and thrive in a fast-paced environment, including early morning starts from 7:15 am and possibly afternoon shifts until 6:30 pm.
