Description

We are recruiting for a Dog Daycare Assistant Apprentice to join our fun, dog mad team who will support you in your training.
To work for us you will need to be confident, committed, responsible, caring and reliable. You need to have a passion for dogs, be presentable with good communication skills.
You must love dogs of all sizes, breeds, temperaments and enjoy working outdoors. We have an indoor and outdoor area however you will still be out in all weathers. You will get slobbered on, you will have to pick up faeces and do lots of cleaning. If any of this doesn’t appeal to you, please do not apply. The dogs can be unpredictable at times, you are not just sitting and cuddling dogs all day.
Apart from the obvious perk of working with a bunch of fun loving dogs and very friendly, chatty people, loyalty is rewarded and to keep spirits high, we have regular social outings and treats, because it’s our team that sets us apart.
You will be working within a team to supervise, stimulate, engage and provide enrichment to the dogs at Fareham’s Dog Daycare. This role involves bonding with the dogs and being creative with games to stimulate them. You will be feeding and interacting with dogs of all ages and also cleaning and tidying.

Duties will include, but not limited to;

  • Greet and check in dogs upon arrival, ensuring the necessary booking system is up-to-date
  • Provide exercise, playtime, and socialisation for dogs in a safe and engaging environment
  • Clean and maintain day care areas
  • Assist with feeding, administering medication (if necessary), and providing fresh water for dogs
  • Monitor dog behaviour and interactions, intervening if necessary to ensure a safe and enjoyable experience for all
  • Provide excellent customer service to dog owners, answering questions, letting them know how their dog is getting on and addressing concerns
  • Collaborate with other team members to ensure seamless day care operations

DESIRED SKILLS & QUALITIES

  • Looking for a career with dogs
