WHAT DO YOU NEED TO BE SUCCESSFUL?

  • You will be enthusiastic and motivated and hold a Level 2 Dog Grooming qualification (or higher) or similar recognised qualification within the dog grooming field and a minimum of 2-3 years’ experience either in a Grooming Parlour or your own business.
  • You will have a teaching qualification or willingness to work towards a recognised qualification.
  • Ideally, you will have work experience within a Further Education environment.
  • You will have excellent communication skills and the ability to engage with students at all levels to ensure you are maximising individual strengths to set them up for success.

Responsibilities

We have an exciting opportunity for a Dog Grooming Teacher role within our Animal Management team at our Merrist Wood College. You will be responsible for overseeing the delivery of our bespoke L1 Introduction to Dog Grooming (for beginners) course and our other suite of short-day courses e.g. Pampered Pooch and Emmi Dental courses. You will have responsibilities linked to the quality of teaching and learning in the delivery of the grooming courses and in supporting the raising of standards in accordance with the Corporate Aims and Strategic Objectives of the College. At present this is planned to involve 1 week day and 1 weekend day (Saturday) working, with the expectation that leave will be taken during holiday time only.
This is a permanent, part-time role working 14.8 hours (0.40 FTE) per week based at our Merrist Wood College.
