Job Description: UK Appliance Engineer
Domestic Appliance Engineer
At Iterum, we’re building the infrastructure for Britain’s growing Build to Rent market - a sector that hit over £6bn volume in 2024, accounting for 15% of the total UK residential real estate market. We believe in doing things right. We are developing systems and tools that enable us to predict and plan for these events efficiently, ensuring our skilled engineers can enhance service, support, and overall quality.
This is an opportunity for a skilled engineer who values quality workmanship to join a company that does too. Our approach is built on efficiency. We work with modern, high-spec sites, allowing us to group appointments and create the time to focus on what matters most. We’re not about rushing through an endless stack of jobs; we’re here to raise the bar.

London and Manchester

Q3 2025
Base Salary
£50,000- £60,000 per annum
Work Type
Full-Time, Permanent
Package
A company EV van, tools, and uniform are provided. All expenses, including a fuel card for charging and parking are covered.
Bonus & Incentive Structure
A potential cash bonus and profit unit incentive scheme will be developed as the role matures.
Benefits
28 days paid annual leave (excluding public holidays) and comprehensive health cover.
Development
Ongoing investment in professional training and a clear opportunity for progression as the team grows.
About the Role
We are looking for our first full-time Domestic Appliance Engineers to become a core part of our team. This role is for a professional who wants stability and support without losing their autonomy. While your primary responsibility will be expert installation and repair work, your experience from the field is crucial. You will have a direct line to our internal teams, and your feedback and insights on how to improve efficiency and quality will be heard, prioritised and acted upon.
Your Responsibilities Will Include:
Installing and repairing domestic integrated appliances such as washing machines, ovens, dishwashers, and fridge freezers, ensuring safe handling.
Ensuring all work is compliant with current electrical standards and safety regulations.
Taking full ownership of jobs, from service and reporting to the resident experience.
Managing a basic inventory and assisting with stock planning.
Liaising with property managers and our HQ team to coordinate jobs effectively.
This Role is for Someone Who:
Takes genuine pride in quality workmanship and doing the job right the first time.
Communicates clearly and professionally with residents and property managers, and builds positive relationships with colleagues.
Is proactive and enjoys identifying practical solutions to improve processes on the ground.
May have experience working for themselves and wants the benefits of an employed role (like paid time off and no business development) but appreciates an environment of trust and autonomy.
Is interested in future opportunities to take on more responsibility, such as leading a regional team or training apprentices as the company grows.
What You’ll Need:
Significant, demonstrable experience installing and repairing domestic white goods.
A full UK driving licence.
Comfort using a mobile phone or tablet to manage and report on jobs.
A strong understanding of electrical safety standards when working on mains-powered appliances.
Based in or near London (within the M25) or Greater Manchester.
Additionally, the following are highly desirable but not essential:
Completion of manufacturer-led training courses from major brands (e.g., Bosch, Neff, Siemens, Hisense, Whirlpool, Hoover-candy etc.) is a significant advantage. We value this practical, up-to-date knowledge just as highly as demonstrable hands-on experience.
A current F-Gas certification would be beneficial for specific disposal work on refrigeration units.
Experience in completing in-warranty repairs for major brands.
Basic carpentry skills.
