We are looking for Casual and Permanent Domestic Assistants within the Central Coast from all areas of the central coast from Woy Woy to Chain Valley Bay.

  • Motivation to work with older people living in the community and an understanding of their needs and of consumer directed care
  • Strong customer service focus and good time management skills
  • Ability to work independently and safely in a client’s home and out in the community.
  • Good communication skills, including fluency in written and spoken English
  • Ability to use a smart mobile phone.
Responsibilities

The primary purpose of the role is to support Salvos Home Care (SHC) clients with general cleaning duties in accordance with their assessed individual needs and wishes, to enable the client to remain living in their home independently. You will play a key role in the maintenance and cleanliness of our client’s home which will make a real difference to residents’ quality of life.

You will also be responsible for the following tasks:

  • Assist clients with household tasks including tidying, cleaning, laundry, and ironing, in accordance with the client’s domestic support plan and utilising appropriate equipment and supplies.
  • Work within The Salvation Army Workplace Health and Safety policy, procedures, and guidelines, including in relation to safe driving, manual handling and infection prevention and control.
  • Maintain respectful, effective communication and professional boundaries with clients and their informal carers, and with the SHC team.
  • Complete mandatory training and contribute as a member of the SHC team, participating in staff meetings, quality improvement, and learning and development activities.
