About the Role: As a Donations Attendant, your main responsibility will be to manage and process incoming donations in a retail setting. You will play a crucial role in ensuring the success of our organization by accurately sorting, pricing, and displaying donated items. Your efforts will directly contribute to generating revenue for our cause and supporting our mission. Additionally, you will provide excellent customer service to donors and assist in maintaining a clean and organized donation area. Overall, your role as a Donations Attendant will be instrumental in helping us make a positive impact in the community. Minimum Qualifications: * High school diploma or equivalent. * Previous experience in a retail or customer service role. * Ability to lift and carry heavy items, as well as stand for extended periods of time. * Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. * Attention to detail and ability to accurately assess the condition of donated items. Preferred Qualifications: * Experience working in a thrift store or similar retail environment. * Knowledge of pricing and merchandising strategies for second-hand items. * Familiarity with donation management software or systems. * Ability to handle cash transactions and operate a cash register. * Strong organizational skills and the ability to multitask effectively. Responsibilities: * Receive and sort incoming donations, ensuring items are in good condition and meet our acceptance criteria. * Price donated items based on established guidelines and ensure accurate labeling. * Display donated items in an appealing and organized manner to maximize sales potential. * Provide exceptional customer service to donors, answering questions and expressing gratitude for their contributions. * Maintain cleanliness and organization in the donation area, including regular cleaning and restocking of supplies. Skills: In this role, you will utilize your strong attention to detail to accurately assess the condition of donated items and price them accordingly. Your excellent communication and interpersonal skills will be essential in providing exceptional customer service to donors and expressing gratitude for their contributions. Additionally, your ability to lift and carry heavy items and stand for extended periods of time will be utilized when receiving and sorting incoming donations. Familiarity with donation management software or systems, as well as cash handling experience, will be beneficial in efficiently processing transactions. Finally, your organizational skills and ability to multitask effectively will contribute to maintaining a clean and organized donation area.
