Description The Land Trust for Tennessee Position Title: Donor Engagement Coordinator Supervisor: Development Manager Location: Nashville, TN About The Land Trust for Tennessee The Land Trust for Tennessee (“LTTN”) is a statewide, accredited non-profit land conservation organization with offices in Nashville and Chattanooga. Now in its 26th year, LTTN has protected 137,000 acres through more than 460 conservation projects across Tennessee. LTTN seeks an energetic professional to join our collaborative staff and highly regarded board in this full-time position. The position is based in Nashville and offers an impactful, demanding work opportunity at one of the nation’s premier conservation organizations. Summary of Position The Donor Engagement Coordinator (“Coordinator”) will assist in carrying out The Land Trust for Tennessee’s (“LTTN”) donor relations strategy and programming. The primary responsibilities of this position are to support the growth of the donor base through donation processing, data analysis and research, and implementation of campaigns, including appeal mailings. The Coordinator will work collaboratively to help implement fundraising strategies to meet a $2.7+ million operating budget (which includes but is not limited to individual, corporate, foundation, and events revenue streams). The Coordinator will have a high standard of accuracy, exceptional attention to detail, and comfort working in fundraising platforms such as Salesforce Nonprofit Cloud (NPC). Primary Responsibilities Development Operations Serve as primary staff member for checking mail, processing all donations, and completing gift entry according to receipt tracking process with a high level of accuracy Draft and send tax acknowledgment letters and thank you letters to donors as appropriate Be responsible for the timely entry, accuracy, and confidentiality of data, reports, and information gathered and managed by Salesforce NPC CRM Manage the online fundraising platform, GoFundMe Pro, building and editing giving pages and receipts, and troubleshooting technological issues as they arise Produce timely, accurate and comprehensive fundraising reports and documents from multiple platforms, including Salesforce NPC and GoFundMe Pro Take minutes for the Development & Engagement Committee meetings Initial point of contact for development queries Assist the finance and operations team on an as-needed basis with answering phones, gate calls, monitoring shared email inboxes, et cetera Campaigns & Events Prepare and execute direct mail fundraising communications, calculating donor ask amounts based on prior giving history, increasing total contributions in accordance with strategic and fundraising plans, and tracking appeal success rates Support event preparations and execution through developing invitation lists, collaborating on collateral, assembling and completing mailings, and attending fundraising events Track event metrics, including gifts made and RSVPs received, and overseeing check-in, nametags, and attendance for multiple events Support additional seasonal campaigns, events, grants, and other initiatives as needed Collaborate with D&E team on various topics, including fundraising campaigns, communications, committee meetings, and events Assist with community days and other community engagement opportunities at Glen Leven Farm Fundraising Identify and research prospects in the forms of individuals, corporations, and foundations to determine giving capacity and propensity Develop profiles for existing and prospective donors to assist in future asks Develop and continually improve internal communication procedures and strategies to assist in maintenance of robust donor profiles Express through speaking and writing a deep understanding of both the importance of and technical/transactional aspects of LTTN’s work Desired Skills and Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in a related field or equivalent professional experience One or more years of experience in a coordinator role or similar, preferably in a nonprofit or development context Experience with fundraising CRM software and enthusiasm for building experience in Salesforce Nonprofit Cloud Proficiency in MS Office Familiarity with fundraising and donor engagement concepts and experience developing rapport with donors and stakeholders Excellent written and verbal communication skills Must include the code word “perpetuity” in your cover letter Ability to coordinate and work on multiple projects simultaneously, and to maintain attention to detail while producing a steady volume of work in compliance with deadlines Desirable personal attributes include: strong work ethic, reliable, energetic, team-oriented, high standard for accuracy, adaptable, self-motivated Requirements & Work Environment Must be able to work some nights and weekends as needed for seasonal LTTN events and opportunities, with advance notice and flexibility provided Must have reliable transportation to complete mail duties and other development tasks as needed This position is primarily in-person to support development tasks and a collaborative work environment. Limited flexibility with remote work could be considered as needed, in coordination with the supervisor and in alignment with organizational needs Benefits Full-time position, working 40 hours per week, with a hybrid work model possible following 90 days of employment. Flexible hours offered based on workload and events schedule. In the first two years of employment, LTTN offers 20 PTO days (10 vacation and 10 sick days) on an accrual basis and 11.5 paid holidays per year. Monthly mileage reimbursement, and/or cost of rental car or use of company vehicle offered for work purposes. AAA Roadside Assistance provided. Medical and Dental insurance: premiums are covered at 85% for employee and 50% for spouse and family plans. LTTN currently offers a PPO health plan as well as an HSA option. A $50,000 company-sponsored life insurance policy is provided for each full-time employee.
