THE OPPORTUNITY

We are looking for a Donor Insights Specialist to join our Fund Development Team at CUPS.
The Donor Insights Specialist is focused on achieving the goals and objectives of CUPS’ Fund Development Strategy. You will serve as the in-house expert on donor data recording, management, and strategic use.
In this position, you will lead the donor data strategy, prospect new donors and funding, drive insights and analysis of donors, campaigns and fundraising efforts, and foster donor trust with strong compliance of privacy protocols, CRA guidelines, and ethical standards.

Schedule: Full-time, Mon to Fri, 37.5 hours per week
Starting salary: $68,432 - $71,864

EMPLOYMENT REQUIREMENTS:

  • Proven experience with donor database management, fundraising analytics, and data-driven decision-making (Raiser’s Edge strongly preferred).
  • Knowledge of prospect research methodologies, moves management, and donor insights tools.
  • Advanced skills in data analysis, reporting, and Microsoft Excel; PowerBI experience an asset.
  • Strong organizational skills with exceptional attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Ability to synthesize and present complex data in clear, actionable ways
  • Discretion in handling confidential information and commitment to ethical fundraising practices.
  • Ability to prioritize, manage multiple projects, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills; comfortable collaborating with multiple stakeholders.
  • Familiarity with fundraising best practices and donor privacy regulations.
Responsibilities
  • Oversee CRM (Raiser’s Edge NXT) management with a strategic focus on data-driven fundraising growth
  • Conduct advanced research (relationship mapping, capacity assessments, risk analysis, media monitoring) to identify strong candidates for solicitation
  • Build and maintain robust donor and prospect profiles using donor scoring and wealth screening tools.
  • Use data analytics to monitor donor trends, retention, and campaign performance.
  • Provide data-driven insights and recommendations to inform fundraising strategies and annual planning.
  • Support budgeting processes with accurate revenue projections.
  • Act as the subject matter expert on donor privacy, CRA compliance, and donor rights.
  • Maintain strong internal controls and audit-readiness for philanthropic revenue records.
  • Lead initiatives to enhance data systems, improve usability, and ensure data supports relationship building and fundraising objectives.
  • Partner with leadership to ensure that reports, dashboards, and processes support fundraising efficiency and growth.
  • Work closely with Leadership, Fund Development, and Communications teams to share donor insights, coordinate engagement strategies, and support stewardship activities.
  • Lead pipeline review meetings, contribute to strategic planning, and provide briefs, recommendations, and priority engagement lists.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement by identifying growth opportunities in philanthropy efforts and supporting team members to optimize their use of CUPS’ CRM to enhance donor engagement, event execution, and fundraising efficiency.
  • Support fundraising and stewardship events, campaigns, and donor programs, including managing invitations, tracking, and reporting.
  • Maintain strong communication and accountability with colleagues to improve cross-departmental coordination and data accuracy.
