Status: Full Time
Hours: Monday - Friday, 35 hours/week
Home Campus: Fennell (hybrid work arrangements available)
Rate of Pay: Payband I (Start Rate: $39.34 per hour)

The Donor Relations & Stewardship Specialist reports to the Director, Strategic Advancement Initiatives and works closely with the Mohawk College Foundation Board, College leaders, the Foundation team, internal partners across the College, and external partners to create exceptional donor experiences that result in ongoing investment in the College’s strategic priorities.
The Donor Relations & Stewardship Specialist leads collaborations with the Alumni Team to support alumni stewardship programs, collaborates with the fundraising team to lead the development and maintenance of comprehensive recognition and engagement systems that have impact, educate and inspire donors, and instil donor confidence to maintain lasting relationships between Mohawk College, its alumni, benefactors, and community partners. The Specialist oversees donor recognition, donor communications and reporting, donor events and experiences, and other stewardship activities.

Responsibilities

WHAT YOU’LL BRING TO THE ROLE:

  • A 3-year diploma/degree in a related discipline or equivalent combination of education and experience. CFRE designation is considered an asset, or diploma/certificate in philanthropy, and/or non-profit management would be a strong asset.
  • 5+ years of progressive philanthropy and/or stewardship and/or donor relations experience is required, preferably in a post-secondary or non-profit environment.
  • Strong interpersonal and relationship-building skills.
  • Excellent writing, communication, analytical and research skills required to convey clear and concise information within the context of fundraising/stewardship/donor relations.
  • Demonstrated extensive knowledge of fundraising and stewardship marketing and communications, excellent reporting and writing skills, and knowledge and experience producing digital media (including social media content).
  • Demonstrated experience with donor and engagement report development and event management; creating donor impact reports, and annual reports.
  • Ability to work comfortably in a highly collaborative, high-performing environment, and manage competing interests.
  • Sound judgement, tact, and diplomacy.
  • Experience with major gift fundraising programs, donors, and volunteers
  • Knowledge of Raiser’s Edge software is required.
  • Demonstrated commitment and understanding of human rights, equity, diversity, inclusion, and accessibility.
  • The ability to communicate and work effectively with diverse students, employees, and communities.
