Employment Type: Monday-Friday; full-time; exempt; some weekend and evening work required for special events, and out-of-town conferences.
Pay: $36,000.00 - $43,000.00 per year

POSITION SUMMARY:

The Donor Relations Manager, under the leadership the Executive Director, is responsible for planning, implementing, and evaluating the organization’s annual fundraising plan; managing corporate relationships and expanding Paws Humane’s partnerships with foundations and organizations as well as cultivating, soliciting, and stewarding donors to strengthen existing relationships and increase giving levels. The Donor Relations Manager will work with the Paws team on special fundraising initiatives and opportunities to raise community awareness.

· Three to five years of events management experience, ideally in a non-profit environment.
· Prior experience in nonprofit fundraising and/or business development and community engagement.
· Bachelor’s degree preferred.
· Ability to maintain discretion and confidentiality at all times.
· Ability to work independently with minimum supervision.

· Demonstrated tact, diplomacy, and creativity.

  • Dependable vehicle and valid driver’s license.

Responsibilities
  • Work with the Executive Director on an annual development plan to ensure fundraising goals are met while prioritizing relationships significant to Paws Humane’s philanthropic efforts.
  • In collaboration with Marketing, create and execute a plan that drives donor engagement and giving. This plan includes information for major donors, corporate partners, planned giving, sustained giving, an end-of-year integrated marketing campaign to support fundraising efforts, special messages from the Executive Director, and other relationship-building vehicles.
  • Write, submit and support all grant requirements and reporting
  • Serve on the Development Committee and Special Events Committee and provide volunteers with meaningful education and engagement opportunities to support Paws Humane’s fundraising efforts.
  • Assist with direct mail and digital campaigns, including donor appeal letters, newsletters, e-blasts and peer-to-peer projects. Corporate Relationships
  • Promote opportunities for businesses and corporations to get involved in the mission of Paws Humane through monetary donations, event sponsorships, and grant support.
  • Develop and execute a strategic management plan for nurturing existing corporate donor relationships.
  • Take charge of implementing this plan specifically in the Columbus area and provide leadership and accountability. Identify and recruit prospective new corporate relationships for Paws Humane Society. Donors
  • Take the lead on cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship efforts related donors, including written correspondence, donor appreciation events, tours of Paws Humane, and appeals for increased gifts, as defined by the annual development plan.
  • Regularly review the donor portfolio to identify prospects for major gift cultivation. Other activities as part of the development team:
  • Provide support to the planning and implementation of Paws fundraising events.
  • Commit to understanding and practicing the mission of Paws Humane. This includes active participation in sharing the mission, vision, and values of Paws Humane internally and externally, creating a culture of active philanthropy for and through all staff.
  • Gather video and written testimonials from clients and assist in converting them to stories for use in print, social media, and email.
  • Offer ongoing support for Development team projects.
  • Work with 3rd party vendors as needed to execute the responsibilities of the position.
  • Maintain absolute confidentiality regarding all donor records, transactions, data, research, and communications, respecting the anonymity of each donor’s identity, as directed by the donor and department policy.
