With the generous support of our donors and retail customers, we are changing lives through the power of work.   Position Summary: Responsible for increasing the material donations collected in the territory. Builds lasting partnerships with local businesses, civic groups, and community-based organizations to gather their donated items. Through these relationships, set up donation drives and schedule commercial or in-home pickups that yield high-quality donations for GWH.   Essential Duties and Responsibilities: * Research to continually identify, cultivate, and steward new donor relationships as part of an overall donor acquisition strategy. * Work closely with the Director of Donation Acquisition (DDA), retail senior leadership team, and the transportation department to plan, coordinate, and lead donation-driven events and activities. * Partner with Fund Development and Community Relations to create a holistic approach to building strong community relationships through external donation acquisition strategies, special events, and promotional opportunities, including event design, collateral design, and distribution and promotion. * Provide frequent communication with the DDA and senior leadership on planned activities and metric-driven results. * Provide clear, timely communication of progress, issues, and resource requirements of donated goods with members of the leadership team. * Maintain strong and positive work relationships with all associates. * Track critical data relevant to donations' quantity, quality, and value, and assist with data analysis. * Represent GWH as the Donor Ambassador at community engagements and donor events. * Participate in organizational discussions and contribute to conversations regarding the strategic direction and community impact/outcomes in our territory. * Acts as a GWH ambassador, champions GWH’s mission, and participates in community activities to support the advancement of GWH throughout local communities. Flexible work hours and the ability to work nights and weekends are essential to this position. * As a servant leader, assists in barrier removal to ensure the success of the team. * Develop new partnerships and participate in required community/civic events to meet quarterly objectives. * Accomplish organizational mission by completing related assignments as needed. * Perform other duties as directed by management to support evolving organizational needs.   Additional Responsibilities: * Demonstrate professionalism, good judgment, and present a friendly, cooperative attitude. * Ability to multitask, make quick decisions, adapt to change, and collaborate effectively in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment. * Adheres to all GWH Policies & Procedures, Loss Prevention & Safety Regulations, and GWH Guiding Principles. * Must be punctual, maintain a professional appearance, and perform expected duties. * Maintain a high level of confidentiality. * Must perform all duties according to GWH safety procedures, maintain good housekeeping standards, and ensure all walkways are clear and free of clutter. * Adheres to local, state, and federal laws and regulations.   Minimum Qualifications: * A bachelor's degree is preferred; equivalent professional experience may be considered in lieu of a degree. * A minimum of three (3) years of experience in a nonprofit setting is required. * Demonstrated success in a development function (managing and forging relationships with multiple donor sources). * Areas of expertise: strategic planning and managing complex operating systems. * Excellent computer skills (proficient in Microsoft Office). * Excellent verbal communication skills and comfortable with presenting and public speaking. * Exceptional customer service skills. * Strong communication and relationship-building skills. * Must be willing to travel. * Must have a valid Texas driver’s license and valid insurance. * Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship for current or future employment. GWH does not offer visa sponsorship for employment purposes.    Key Performance Indicators (KPI): 1. Donor Strategy Development: Completion and approval of a comprehensive donor cultivation and stewardship strategy plan 2. Solicitation Campaign Strategy: Development and documented test results of targeted donation solicitation campaigns 3. Long-term Strategic Plan: Implementation of a long-term targeting strategy based on campaign test results 4. Partnerships and Acquisition: Development and 90% retention of new partnerships, donation acquisition partnerships, and completion of targeted donation goals 5. Event and Activities: Completion of the targeted number of planned, coordinated, and led Donation Acquisition events   Physical Requirements/Work Environment: * Regular twisting, bending, squatting, kneeling, pushing, and pulling. * Ability to lift up to 40 lbs. and, occasionally, lift/move items up to 100 lbs. (e.g., large bags of donations, televisions, furniture, etc.) * Must be able to stand for extended periods of time. * Moderate indoor noise with periodic exposure to outside temperatures.
