Door Greeter/ JOB REQUIREMENTS 1. Minimum Educational Requirements: High school graduate or equivalent. 2. Minimum experience: 1 year of retail or loss prevention experience proffered. 3. Physical requirements: Must be able to stand and walk sales floor for 8 hours at a time. Must be able to lift and carry 25 lbs.(Minimum) Must be available to work nights, weekends and rotating shifts. Must be able to follow directions and be able to communicate clearly both verbally and in writing. General Job Functions The person designated as a Door Guard/Greeter will be responsible for insuring that all customers coming into the store are directed to the proper area to help them in their shopping experience and that they are properly greeted. The Door Guard/Greeter will ensure that all bags are properly checked in and that no opened food or drinks are entering the store. They will be stationed in a position so that all incoming customers will pass by this person. Be trained in all areas of the store layout so they can direct customers to the proper location as needed. Be trained in loss prevention so they can identify suspicious activities and notify loss prevention on the two way radio. Direct any customer with a package to check their packages. Assist customers by directing them to a specific department within the store when asked. At no time will you discuss policies or procedures with the public, but refer them to the MOD. Observe the front end register and/or customer service desk operations or areas adjacent to your station for suspicious behavior or safety issues and notify loss prevention and/or store management of anything that needs follow up. Door Guard/Greeter will conduct him/herself in a professional manner at all times. Proper respect will be shown to both customers and employees alike. There will be no fraternization or “hanging out” at the register area. This position area of responsibility will be to the front end of the store and Door Guard/Greeter will remain there until properly relieved or directed otherwise by Loss Prevention or Store Management. The Door Guard/Greeter will check contents of all employee purchases for valid receipts for the merchandise contained within the bag/s. Under no circumstances are ladies handbags to be checked for any reason. In addition to this position you are expected to perform all tasks and functions assigned by management as requested to meet the needs of the business.
