Job Title: Door Watch / Admission Porter Location: Knowledge Bar & Social Room Schedule: Typically Fridays & Saturdays, 7:00 PM – 1:30 AM (TBD) Position Overview: Knowledge Bar & Social Room is seeking a reliable and professional Door Watch/Admission Porter to join our team on weekend nights. This role is essential in creating a safe, welcoming, and enjoyable environment for our guests. The Admission Porter will be the first point of contact for patrons, ensuring that all individuals entering meet legal age requirements, are in suitable condition to enjoy the space responsibly, and that the flow of guests is managed smoothly throughout the evening. Key Responsibilities: * Greet and screen all incoming guests in a professional and courteous manner. * Check valid identification to verify that all guests are 21 years of age or older. * Monitor guest flow to maintain a steady and regulated entrance process. * Assess levels of intoxication and exercise judgment in allowing or denying entry. * Escort disorderly, aggressive, or overly intoxicated guests off property when necessary, ensuring the safety of all patrons and staff. * Collaborate with bartenders, servers, and management to maintain a safe and positive atmosphere. * Remain alert and observant throughout the shift, addressing potential issues proactively. * Uphold all local, state, and company policies regarding safety and responsible alcohol service. * Help keep a clean space. Bring glassware to bar top when needed. Take trash out when full. Qualifications: * Must be at least 21 years old. * Strong interpersonal and communication skills. * Ability to remain calm, professional, and authoritative in high-pressure or confrontational situations. * Prior security, hospitality, or customer service experience preferred but not required. * Physical ability to stand for extended periods and escort guests when needed. * Knowledge of responsible alcohol service practices a plus.
